This online program is intended for physicians, pharmacists, nurses, technicians, and allied healthcare professionals.

UMNDJ School of Public Health, Tobacco Dependence Program
The 5-Day Core Training provides health professionals with an in-depth understanding of Tobacco Dependence, as well as the essential science-based treatment tools necessary to help their client’s achieve freedom from tobacco use.

Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota:
Tobacco Treatment Specialist Certification
This program is an intensive, five-day course focusing on the skills needed to effectively treat tobacco dependence. This training program is designed for health care professionals already providing tobacco dependence treatment and for those with a strong interest in entering the field.
Nicotine Dependence Conferences
The conference includes nicotine dependence counselor training and instructions on program development, with speakers drawn from the research and clinical staff, Mayo support services, and internationally known experts in the field.

University of Massachusetts Medical School, The Center for Tobacco Prevention and Control
Tobacco Treatment Specialist (TTS) Training. This is an intensive, evidence-based training program designed for persons who deliver moderate to intensive tobacco treatment services within a health care or community setting. There is a two-day Basic Skills for Working with Smokers course and a five-day Core Certification training course. There are two levels of certification, (1) an entry level certification which requires 240 hours experience in tobacco treatment in the last 5 years for licensed healthcare professionals* (approximately 4 hours/month) OR 480 hours experience in tobacco treatment in the last 5 years for other healthcare professionals (approximately 8 hours/month), and (2) a Master TTS certification for those tobacco treatment providers who have at least 2000 hours documented experience within the last 5 years.

Rx for Change
Rx for Change: Clinician-Assisted Tobacco Cessation is a comprehensive, tobacco cessation training program that equips health professional students and licensed clinicians with knowledge and skills for assisting patients with quitting.

Center for Tobacco Independence, Maine
Three different types of training for health professionals in Maine are available: brief, intensive and advanced. The two-day Specialist Training offers practical information on how to provide moderate to intensive tobacco treatment services. This program places emphasis on the skills necessary to deliver behavioral counseling and understand evidence-based treatments.

Tobacco Free Patients
An online training program providing clinical tobacco interventions based on a National Cancer Institute educational program, Help Your Patients Be Tobacco Free. Courses feature evidence-based, clinically relevant information, key points, interactive questions, patient handouts, clinical forms, and helpful links.
